Elder Jordan Saunooke ~ 6/19/17 ~ Full of Divisiones...
This week was a week full of divisiones. I like divisiones but they are kind of tiring sometimes and it makes it hard to plan, but it helps us to have new investigators in the area. We did divisiones with the Elderes of Pinos and it was lots of fun because they are both really new in the mission so they have lots of energy and still arent accustomed to everything.
On thursday we had our interviews with presidente Ruiz, and he practically told me that im going to have transfers this week. He asked me how much time i had in the area and when i told him 6 months, he said well i think its time then unless you really feel differently about it.... so we will see what happens this week:) He also asked me how much time I have in the mission and when i told him 19 months he said wow its the last sprint then:)
On Friday we had our 8 principles meeting and it was really cool because for the first time in like 4 tranfers my companion and I didnt have to prepare anything! We just showed up and had fun teaching:) We then went and did divisiones with the assistents afterwards and I went with Elder Mordasini. He only has a year and its his second transfer as assistent!
On Saturday we ate lunch with Olaf, Dulce, and their two sons. They are one of our best investigator families and we made sushi with them and it was so fun! It was really good and was a great mission experience:)
Last night we ate dinner with Rommel and I am really gonna miss him and his wife Brenda! I am so grateful for the people that i have met and I know I will always treasure these memories.
Love you guys tons

Elder Jordan Saunooke ~ 6/12/17 ~ Global Warming is Real
Hi family!!! I think I can officially say that my eyebrows are three different colors from so much sun here!! This week was a good, but challenging week. The biggest struggle in the mission is finding new investigators and now that we have contacted the better part of our area sometimes its difficult to find new investigators but somehow we always do:)
On Thursday I had to teach an english class and its honestly really hard to teach a language. One of the investigators of the sisters of our zona is some sort of metafisica psychologist that is pretty cocky but knows a lot of english and kept wanting to say weird sentencies like ¨before being born we were entities of light¨ and i was like uhuhh yeah sure:P we also ate tacos afterwards in some taco stand of a member that lives close by, and I tried tacos de cabeza.. not my favorite but not bad either.
On Friday we had a lesson at night with a partial family who the husband is a chef, and a member of like 15 years who has been inactive, and his wife is catholic but very receptive. They want to one day get married in the temple and we are working with them but they dont show up to sacrament meeting:( We showed up to teach them but we had to go to the mother in laws house because it was her birthday and they were over there. When they invited us in we realized that if it hadnt been for the fact that we know them we never would be able to get into a house like that. It had a library and a bunch of catholic statues. Rich and catholic usually dont let us in but this was the exception hahhaa:P
I hope you guys are doing great and I love you tons! Happy Father´s Day Dad love you tons and Ill be there to celebrate our birthday!

Elder Jordan Saunooke ~ 6/5/17 ~ 19 Months!
This week seems to have passed by super fast also, and I honestly have a hard time remembering all the stuff that happens now hahhaa. We have had success this week working with a family in the Terranova area that came to a cake activity that we did with the ward where the investigators judged the cakes, and then they showed up to sacrament meeting and also a stake choir event! We had a lidership meeting this friday and we were super tired because it started at 9 and ended at like 3 in the afternoon and we just barely had time to go eat in our area and then go to do some baptismal interviews in Pinos. The family that was going to get baptized was going to be baptized by the dad who just got baptized a few weeks ago, and the dad was sick and so they wanted to postpone the baptism. I didnt really want that to happen because I know that Satan works really hard to make situations happen so that people dont get baptized, so we invited them to say a prayer with us and ask Heavenly Father if they should get baptized. We prayed and waited a few minutes and talked with them, and they all strongly felt that they should stick with the baptismal date. It was a very rewarding experience.
Last night we had a misionary activity at a stake level and we had around 15 investigators that came!! It was a great activity and I hope we can keep working this change to make some miracles happen.
Love you all tons,

Elder Jordan Saunooke ~ 5/22/17/17 ~ Oldest Missionary!
Hi family!!!!!
Guess what!? I am officially the oldest missionary in the zone hahaha:) Wow is that weird. First time that has ever happened. This transfer I will finish 6 months in Tanlum and I really hope that I will be able to accomplish something while I am there.
On Tuesday our ward mission leader Rommel came with us to do a few visits to some investigators we have and it was incredible to see how fast the afternoon goes by as a trio. We spent the whole time laughing and teaching, and before we knew it we had to go to our alineacion de llaves meeting with President Ruiz and President Morales.
On Friday Rommel and his wife Brenda took us out to lunch to the fancy restaurant where Brenda works as an accountant. It is called the Chaya Maya and to get there we had to go to Centro and we went with Rommel in a bus to meet up with Brenda and this bus was unbelievably crowded. It was almost to the point where it would have been easier to leave through one of the windows than the door of the bus. The food was great though and it was good traditional food of Yucatan.
On Sunday we helped the missionaries in Motul and Pinos with a missionary activity which involved the choir of Merida and it was the first time my companion and I had ever been to Motul. We were super excited and Bishop Tec took us to the convi site in Merida in his car, and we went to Motul in the convi and were super happy to see the Moto taxis! The Choir was great and sings amazingly and I got to see two members from Kanasin and one of them was Yazumi! I missed seeing her she is so hilarious! President then took us to the stake center in Pinos and we got to hear the choir again. We helped set up a table with pamphlets and Books of Mormon and other stuff to hand out to spark interest in the missionary work.
When we came back to our area on the bus my comp wanted to take a risk and get off at another area betting that it was going to be faster to get back home, and I didnt believe him, but it turns out he was right and he was bragging all the way home hahahah:) We get along super great and im so glad I got to stay another change with him.
I love you all and I hope you have a great week!!!
Stay strong Ansley I love you baby girl!
Elder Jordan Saunooke ~ 5/15/17 ~ CONFESSION!
So I have a confession to make..... I am terrible at writing in my journal. I used to be really good but ever since I became zone leader the nights are used to verify how the districts are doing, so I am really bad at writing down what happens and it all kind of just blurs together.
On Friday we had divisiones with the elders of Las Americas and it was a super good day. I went with Elder Salas who just finished the mission this week and we had an afternoon packed of spiritual experiencias. We went and saw a sister who is adventista and has been to church with us one time. We have been trying to help her gain a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon and we had a powerful lesson about recognizing revelation through prayer. She finished in tears and I know that she felt the spirit. I then felt prompted to go and see a family that has a 26 year old son that we contacted a long time ago and havent been able to find him again, and we showed up and his parents were in tears. That son we had contacted had chosed to go live with his girlfriend and his parents (of very strong moral values) were heartbroken over this form of rebellion. We had a great lesson helping them to recognize the role of families and how they can have the assurance of an eternal family through the restored gospel. That night we also ordered tortas de pastor and mmmmmmm I love those thingsXD
The next day (Saturday) also went really well and we were able to find a few new investigators. Something that I have realized is that lots of times one person in the family is more receptive to the spirit and wants to go to church, but the other family member is a little more difficult and as a result the family doesnt go and that is sad to see. That night we visited a contact we made the last transfer and were able to speak with his whole family and he was cooking steak and potatoes and it was the first time in 18 months that I ate steak :D
Mother´s Day was so wonderful!! I loved seeing you guys, and wow the family has definitely changed and grown since I left, but you guys are still you:) I hope you know how much I love and appreciate you, and I cant wait til the next phone call home... oh wait the next one is when I see you guys in person hahah;)
We had transfers andddddddddddddddddddddddddddd dddd............ We stayed the same! I think two companions that get along as zone leaders together for 3 transfers with President Ruiz is unheard of, but this will be my fourth transfer in Tanlum. The Lord obviously wants us to baptize together.
Love you all,
Elder Jordan Saunooke
Elder Jordan Saunooke ~ 5/8/17 ~ 18 Months in the Mission!
Well this marks almost the end of this transfer.... and 18 months in the mission. On Tuesday we had interviews with President Ruiz, and we were going to have our meeting with him and the stake president but it got canceled and we were able to find some new investigators.
On Wednesday we had a Zone conference and we talked about the new goal that we have as a mission to baptize 25 every week and how we are going to be able to meet that goal. We also went to help the sisters of Francisco de Montejo because one of the sisters who is around 75 years old was sick and we went from farmacy to farmacy looking for her prescription and somehow I ended up in the back of the small volkswagen bug of the mission leader of Terranova without ac and I am almost sure that if Dad had been there he would have died because I was feeling super claustrophobic. We had a lesson that night with a sister we contacted the week before and her 8 year old son was there in the lesson with us and this kid is pilas. He understood perfectly the Restoration and when we were putting an appointment to come visit again he wanted us to come back as soon as possible and go to church but the sister in law of his mom showed up and his mom became a little more cold and wasnt as receptive. We then went and saw another contact named Alberto and as soon as we showed up, he invited us into his house and.... put the air conditioning on! That has happened to me only with Bianca and him. He was very receptive as well and is wanting to invite his whole family to listen to us the next time we visit him.
On Thursday I hit 18 months in the mission and even nature celebrated. We were in a lesson teaching Margarita and there was a huge wind storm that came through and uprooted trees and all the yucatecos were super scared hahaha.
On Saturday we had a great meeting at night with our ward mission leader Rommel who is honestly one of my best friends I have met in the mission. He told us that he really wants to work with us this week and apologized for not having helped out as much as he used to, and told us he really hopes we dont get changed. I am gonna miss that guy!
Sunday we did an area attack in Francisco de Montejo to help them out and my companion and I did splits with two jovenes of the ward. It was a really great activity and I hope that it will help us to meet the goal of 25 baptisms a week as a mission.
This morning we had the first zone activity I have had since May of last year and we played musical chairs and had a type of pot luck breakfast.
I love you all tons and I cant wait to see you guys this Sunday!!!
